Catholic on Top of Final Power Rankings

Last night, the LHSLL regular season came to a close. After all the games were tallied up, we have our final Power Rankings for the season, and with them our playoff picture is complete.

Ranked #1 is Catholic High out of Baton Rouge. They finish the season with a single loss and have been at the top of the rankings for weeks. Slotting in right behind them is Jesuit, who moved up the rankings after a big win against St. Thomas More earlier this week. The aforementioned Cougars come in ranked #3, and rounding out the top 4 is Byrd, who moved up to that spot after a big win over rival Captain Shreve last night.

Joining them in the post season will be Newman, St. Paul's, Captain Shreve, and Brother Martin. Falling just shy of a playoff birth are Loyola, Caddo Magnet, and Renegades.

The post season kicks off next Saturday, April 23 in Lafayette for the Super 8 Quarterfinals hosted by St. Thomas More at Cougar Stadium.

How post season seeding works: Each Win is worth 10 points and each Loss is worth 0 points. Regardless of result, the winning percentage of each team you play gets added to your final score. At the end of the regular season, the Top 8 teams with the highest Power Rankings will attend the Super 8 Quarterfinals.
