Location
Baton Rouge, our state's capital and home to LSU, is a place that is familiar to many parents & fans throughout Louisiana. Returning here for both playoff weekends will be a homecoming for many of the league's stakeholders. Moreover, 53% of all league teams are based in and around New Orleans, so hosting both playoff weekends in Baton Rouge represents a closer, more convenient option for over half of all potential participants. Access to our field and facilities is quick and easy from the interstate. Hotels, shopping, restaurants and entertainment are all plentiful within a three-mile radius of Catholic High, and we expect to offer promotional discounts and guest packages in cooperation with VisitBR (https://www.visitbatonrouge.com/).
Facilities
Catholic High's entire spectating area next to the playing field got a major upgrade over the summer, including a new covered seating area with a capacity of 1,600, a new press box, a new and separate concessions area and new restroom facilities. Access to all facilities will be controlled. Concrete parking for roughly 400 vehicles will be available with additional parking if needed. Officials, teams and team buses will have a separate & secure drop-off, entry point and check-in. Officials will have their own separate, full locker room close to the field. All teams will have their own locker room with access to showers and rest rooms. An indoor, air-conditioned VIP room overlooking the field will be available on both weekends for league board members to use at their leisure; light refreshments will be provided.
Support system
Catholic High Lacrosse consistently receives an outstanding level of support from the families of our players. A strong parent group has been in place since lacrosse began at Catholic High 17 years ago in 2007. Since then, we have had a standing army of volunteer parents leading, organizing and executing a wide variety of tasks. Come May 5, we will have an enthusiastic, organized and highly competent group of volunteers ready, willing and able to handle all aspects of these events
