Week Four saw standout performances from numerous players. Multiple players with 9+ points on the weekend. Poles with over a dozen groundballs. FOGOs over 90%. This was without a doubt the hardest decision we've had to make yet, but there was one Goalie who was absolutely stellar, even in defeat. That Goalie is Cooper Hamm of Captain Shreve Lacrosse.
Cooper's Stats:
23 saves vs Newman, 62%
33 saves vs St. Paul’s, 70%
56 total saves on the weekend.
From St. Paul's Head Coach Aaron Falkenstein- "I would like to put in good word for Captain Shreve Goalie... that kid is special. I know we scored a lot on him but he probably had 30+ saves against us."
From Head Coach Garrett Faktor- "Meaning absolutely no shade to any other goalie around the league, Cooper Hamm is undoubtedly the best goalie in the state. Leading a defense with at least 4 brand new defenders on the field at any given time, Cooper commands and leads his young defense like a veteran NCAA goalie. Cooper finished the game vs Newman with 23 total saves on 37 shots on cage. The very next day, he finished our game against St. Paul’s high-powered offense with 33 saves on 47 shots on cage. Finishing the weekend with 56 total saves, Cooper Hamm is top 1 and it’s not particularly close."
For his performance, Cooper will receive a custom LHSLL Outstanding Athlete Stick furnished by the League through our partnership with Primo Lacrosse.
